Please can anyone help

My laptop has become almost unusable; everytime I try to go onto the internet I get sent to a screen called about:blank and lots of spyware message screens appear. I have tried to reset my usual homepage but it just reverts back to about:blank. I have recently had a new antivirus programme loaded by a recognised computer firm and have checked the system is clean and up to date.

When I try to go to any other webpage I end up back at about blank within a couple of seconds.

My level of compter understanding is almost zero, it's taken me over an hour to get to this stage! Does anyone have a simply answer to this most frustrating problem.
