    Help with reapearing Qhost.apd

    Hey,

I am having a rather annoying experience with this Qhost.apd trojan. I browsed through the other posts regarding this problem, and allthough they all seem to be having the same problem I couldn't find anything that directly applied to me -- so I appologize if I missed something that you already covered.

My problem is that the Qhost.apd is being found by McAfee and is "Cleaned," however, when ever I reboot its back. For the longest time I couldn't even log onto the internet or run McAfee's Security Centre/VirusScan (it would close after running for about 5 seconds). So in an attempt to remove Qhost.apd, I disabled System Restore, booted up in Safe Mode and ran my scan. McAfee found the problem and "Cleaned" it. I am now able to run McAfee without it closing on me but, the Qhost.apd reapears after every reboot. Once I gave up on McAfee, I looked at Symantec's site and used that as a reference to look through my registry, however, found nothing. I then resorted to browsing through my "WIN.INI" and "SYSTEM.INI" looking for stuff on the "load=," "run=," and "shell=explorer.exe" lines since I knew that some trojans add stuff there. Again, nothing. I am completely at a loss of what to look for now. Here is my Hijack this log, hopefully you will be able to pick something out of it.

Thanks to anyone who may have tried to figure this out, however, about 5 minutes ago McAffee released a new set of Virus Definitions. Turns out I had a variant of the Gaobot worm, that they hadn't identified till now.
