win32:trojan-gen. {VC}
I just installed this new virus software called "avast!antivirus" It said I had this virus called "win32:trojan-gen. {VC}" but it seems to be unable to fix it as "access is denied" and it "cannot process" it. Does anyone have a manual way to rid of this thing?
Much appreciated.

Presuming you are Running Windows Me or XP
The Trojan that your antivirus program is detecting has been saved in a System Restore Point created by your computer. Your antivirus program is unable to access System Restore, so we need to flush the contents of System Restore. To do this, please follow the instructions relevant to your Operating System in this article.
After you have Disabled System Restore, you need to Reboot and then Reenable System Restore so that your system is safe from errors and will be able to be restored to a previous state.
