schdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm - Please help. shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm - Please help. Hi Guys
Been having problems with connecting to the net through both IE and Opera; accessing the net is extremely erratic, and has been for the last month or two.
More often than not, when I try to start IE, I get the error windows\system32\shdoclc.dll\dnserror.htm (please see attached screen shot) before the page goes to "unable to connect to server". Also it seems like my general computer performance is slow at these times as well.
I use AVG, and Zone Alarm, as well as a host of five spyware detectors (noadware, adaware SE, Spybot, Xoftspy, spyware doctor) and run full scans everyday, but nothing seems to be able to detect or stop this error from occuring.
Also find attached a copy of my hijackthis log file - hopefully there is a giveaway in here that will point to where this problem is stemming from.
Please tell me I have another option other than running my recovery disk....
I would appreciate any help that you can give.

Click Fix Checked
Then boot into Safe Mode and ensure that you are showing Hidden Files and Folders .
Go to the Control Panel and double click Add/Remove programs. Uninstall OpenWares IE Patch, it is no longer needed, Microsoft fixed the vulnerability it addresses.
Delete the following files and folders:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msupd5.exe
Reboot and post a fresh log
