Unhappy Spybot and DoubleClick fighting each other

    Hello,
Whenever I try to go to Ebay, I keep getting a warning pop up window from Spybot that says: "Spybot - S&D reports that you want to download "DoubleClick". This is a known threat. Do you want to BLOCK this download?" I have to click "yes" 8 times before it finally disappears and I can thus continue. I have run Adaware, Spybot and have PC-Cillin installed on my system. All programs mentioned are updated and I just can't shake this darn thing . I hate to bother y'all again, but you are the BEST . I have the latest HJT log if someone would PLEASE take a look. Thanks AGAIN for bailing me out...Jennifer

    Hi,JenniferLynn

Well not sure if there is an option in Spybot to add these
things to an Ignore-list but i don't see this being a good idea
to have an option like this but remember that if you put

DoubleClick on an Ignore-list that any site
you goto can place it on your puter but let's
see what someone may say about this

    Hi Jennifer,
Just to add to what HJT has said, Its nothing to worry about, its just a tracking cookie, they are quite harmless.

If you want Spybot to still block these but do it silently, run Spybot S&D and click Immunize. At the bottom click Block bad downloads silently. The wording here may not be exact, but its off the top of my head.

Thanks Guys! I went to SpyBot and clicked "Block Silently". I'll let ya know if I have any other problems, but I think that should do it! Thanks, Jennifer Lynn

That should do the trick, its just bouncing off all baddies now without need for asking you. Have you got SpywareBlaster installed?

    Hi Owen,
Yes I have SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard installed. Also recently added ZoneAlarm firewall. I have BHODemon and the trial version of Trend Micro PC-Cillin. Is there such a thing as having "too" many of the programs I just rattled off? The PC-Cillin is about to expire and was wondering if any of the free AV programs such as "Avast", "AVG" or "AntiVir" are worth using or is it best to purchase somethig like Norton or (the non-trial free version) of PC-Cillin? Hope that by asking this question that I shouldn't have opened a new thread...??? Thanks for your help, I REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT!!

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
AVG and Avast are good. I think Antivir is useless. Flunked to many tests. AVG and Avast are as good as any paid for AV Programs and I would recommend AVG over Norton.

You should only have one antivirus program and one firewall. I'm not very fond of Zone Alarm, causes drastic slow downs. I think Sygate is a better alternative. If you ever uninstall Zone Alarm, ensure you follow the full instructions here.
