You have a pepper infection

Run the peper uninstaller:
Download Peper Fix from here - http://downloads.subratam.org/PeperFix.exe

Run it twice with a reboot in bewteen, just to make sure.

Next, go for a free Online scan from Computer associates.

Tell us how it did. Write down names and locations of any files that cannot be cleaned, post that info here. OR go after them yourself and delete them.

after you do the above i need you to please download this Ver
of HJT then run a new scan show us the Logfile

Please Download 'Hijackthis'! Save it in a permanent folder as in C:\HJT\ now double click HijackThis.exe, and hit Scan.

When the scan is finished, the Scan button will change into a Save Log button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Can't run CA scans for some reason. Maybe because I have the new update for microsoft installed.

The peper uninstaller worked like a charm ( my word, and excel opens fater now). I think everything is working well now.
