I believe I have a virus which is a MS-DOS program shortcut it has appeared in 'My Received Files'. I had not received it from anyone and I do not know where it has come from, it also cannot be deleted and a message appears saying, 'Cannot Delete: Access denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected andthat the file is not currently in use'. I also have many of the same file with different titles in my C drive again they are shortcuts and they can be deleted but reappear again within a few seconds. I have tried scanning my system for viruses but they do not appear and cannot be deleted. Can anyone help, please?

Sorry about the response time. Try deleting the files in Safe Mode.
