Hi,

I'm having problems with a program called 'HPBPRO.EXE' i belive it came with a HP colour Laserjet 2550 i just purchased, a little research has revealed that it is a 'Hewlett-Packard Port Resolver'.

My problem is that every 20 seconds the program performs some background operation and slows my computer for a short period of time. the program is classed as a no-essensial sytem process, so i was wondering if I could deactivate it some how, what effect this will have on my PC/printer, or if anyone else has had this problem??

Have a read of the Cleaning Up And Speeding Up thread at the top of this forum which tells you how to get rid of the non essential startup programs and generally speed up your PC.
