i downloaded ad-aware 6 on my pc and its been doing fine, but i think its removed a file i might of needed because i cant download anything anymore. something comes up sayong:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application."

if anyone has any ideas as to what i can do to fix this, it would be appreciated.

Try restoring the files from Quarantine. And by the way, Ad-aware 6 is an old version. The latest is Ad-aware SE. Download from www.lavasoft.de.
