Hello Owen,seem to be getting deeper in the **** here !! not 100% on how to 'boot in safe mode' - i'm using windows xp, and the instructions / diagrams i have, are not what i can see on screen ? did give it a go using the f8 button and yes got a black screen up with white text but it didn't say 'showing hidden files and folders' ?

They are two totally different things. If you actually clicked the underlined words, it took you to an instruction page telling you how to boot into Safe Mode and another instruction page for Showing Hidden Files and Folders once booted into Safe Mode. Make sure you delete the files and folders I specified in the last post.

Go to Start> Run and type regedit.

On the left, Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

On the right, right click ¢‰¸K0Ô@ÔÁß and select Delete.

Close Registry Editor. Reboot and post a fresh log.
