Thumbs down DAL.com and company's obsolete scanning procedure/program(s)

    Good day DAL,

I recently had a malware situation on my PC found by my AVG resident shield, in which I

resorted to DAL techs for help. I am always presented with the AntiSpy/Malwaremega and

rootkit solution. I follow directions precisely, but the procedure end result doesn't find any

infections. After replying back to DAL, I am giving a link to a AVP virus removal tool by

Kaspersky. I refused to further use this program because after 15 hours of scanning, it

was only at 15% completion. I ran a deep AVG scan, but still no results. Sometime

passes, and I notice most of my account passwords have been switched Luckly I

didn't have any business or contact information on or associated with them. So I

researched a little bit more about malware removal and I came across about a freeware

program called A-Squared by EMSI Software. I ran the full scan and it found 3 trogans

and a hidden driver (rootkit infections). Now I know every mod/adim reply is suggestion,

but I thought this needs to be addressed I'm just disappointed......

The following is a collaborative response to your post from the D-A-L staff:

We are not sure we understand. What needs to be addressed? Your disappointment in D-A-L or your contention that the scans we suggest are obsolete?

You come seeking free help from D-A-L's volunteer staff starting 8 threads besides this one to date.

Three times the volunteer staff was able to help you. Three threads you just left those helping dangling (considered poor forum etiquette, BTW - since we all come to learn).

Then one thread was terminated by you because scan results were not running fast enough on your computer.

And now it appears to show your disappointment that the volunteers providing this free support were not able to fix that problem quickly, you started this thread to complain about it.

Is that about right? We ask simply because that is how it appears, and we don't see any posts in the social forums about the 3 threads where we did help you.

If your intention as pointed in the title was to discuss the suggested scans then that could have been approached in a very different manner.

I am sure our Security staff, if they have the time, would be happy to discuss the various scans used here at D-A-L and in HJT work in general.

As these scans are widely used across various HJT boards it is hard to see how they are obsolete.

But if that be your argument it would be much more creative stating so rather than simply venting your disappointment.

    Nah,

I don't mean to down on DAL, ya'llz helped me out allot. But the scan process "DAL" suggests is obsolete because they didn't find the infections that I had on my PC. I'm disappointed because I had to find help elsewhere.

Aren't they obsolete is if another software program found trogan's etc. they didn't?

I kept quiet, but your recent reply is simply annoying.
There is nothing obsolete about our scans.
Those are tools used everywhere in malware related forums.

It's not the tool fault, it was running for ever on your computer, but your computer's fault.
In any event, eventually, I gave some other option, but you never responded.
Since you haven't, just stay calm, and don't comment on unfinished procedure.
Unfinished, because, you choose to do so.

Watch this, and call my comment rude, if you wish.
When I spend a good chunk of my free time, helping voluntarily bunch of people all over the net with their computer problems, and someone comes with a comment like yours, it simply makes me sick.

What do you know about malware fighting tools, if you even can't spell trojan correctly?

I would like to say thanks to Jephree, but ***** you broni! You are unable to discuss anything without getting you head stuck up your ***.

I'm going to find help somewhere else that is more professional. Peace
