Hard to find fish in the desert.
Aah, how convenient. As it appears, i wish to be a zoologist in the future
Ok, so we're wiping out 1% each year, so in 100 years we our fish will be extinct (that's how i read it at first) Hmm, very serious, better start looking after the goldfish![]()
I don't like the way Japanese fish for dolphin, that's cruel! Here is a video too with some info...

If we do need to kill living creatures at the very least it should be done humainly. which is not the case with the Japanese with dolphins or for whales which they catch for scientific research
but strangley all the meat and edible organs seems to find its into thair shushi bars and resteraunts.

jacuna indians kill fish for food -they bribe them to the top of the water and stab it with a spear
i find it cruel
The only thing different is that the indians eat the fish to live, and it is an important part of their diet. Where the Japanese are a sophicated society and do not need to eat whale meat as they could eat any fish or meat and they way they kill the whale barbaric especialy boththe whale and the dolphin are so highly inteligent. But one has to say they are not the only culture that mistreats animals as the RSPCA in this country will tell you. Human beings all over the world are mistreating animals and killing them in barbaric ways, so don't just blame the Japanese and thinking that they are the only society that does that. Look in our own back yard people abandon poneys and horses many have to be put down by the RSPCA the same with dogs, cats and many other domestic pets, when the human owner does not want them any more, how cruel is that.
Whales were traditionally fished by Europeans for OIL.
Back when they assumed they were just big fish rather than the mammals that they are.
Elephants were traditionally killed by Europeans for IVORY.
Back before they found other things for the natives to do like dig for DIAMONDS and GOLD.
Neither these aquatic nor terrestrial mammals were seen as worthwhile outside of their utility. This covers the humans as well.
We have two quite remarkable pictures of these processes thanks to the ancient art of Literature:
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
