People are using fish too commonly nowadays because not many people actually understand the whole labour that people have to go through to catch the fish. Thsi is why people need to be thinking more about letting the "common" fish breead for a few controlled years whilst we eat lobster or something slightly random (hopefully for the same price) Even when the sailors are at work more people need to be aware of the risks that these lives go through just to put some fish on your plate.
That goes for all workers actually because we need to stop thinking about these people as objects just made for manual work or to feed us, just because we want a job done quickly for maximum profit doesn't mean we have to treat workers unfairly in poorer countries. They don't deserve the bull***t. We are only human afterall.
Actaully this topic has reminded me about a new documentary that's just started up called Blood, Sweat and Takeaways to show people where the tuna and prawns etc come from for our fast foods. I think it's very interesting especially for those people who enjoy fast foods... or generally lots of greasy foods of which you are not sure of the origins.
This was what I watched last night about prawns:
BBC iPlayer - Blood, Sweat and Takeaways: Prawn
On a local scale Key West has a new home for some fishies etc.
If I ever make it out there I will post my own pics.
USNS Vandenberg - The Sinking Of A Cold War Relic
A bunch of local still photos at this link:
