I am pleased to announce we have just confirmed with a company to completely redesign the forum here to brighten it up and give the place a lift! We are also looking to invest more money in features which will be driven by the members here to make the site more useful.

As everyone knows D-A-L is a privately funded site and we rely on donations and Ad revenue to keep us going. If any members wish to make a contribution by way of donation to the new design and relaunch of D-A-L then please PM me directly. I am happy to share the costs of this with anyone who would like to know, anyone who does contribute will be given supporter status on the new board with a few added benefits.

As always donations are 100% optional and by not donating your experience here will not change. For those however who would like to help in this way then there is an option to do so and any size donation is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a timeframe for the site redesign?

And you say, "also looking to invest...", by "also", in addition to the new design, what? Hardware? Bandwidth? And is there a timeframe for this stage?

The company we have hired say the design is going to be underway this weekend so I am hoping to have this complete and Live by the end of February at the latest.

Additions to the new design are hacks to the board which make it more interesting for users or more helpful. For example I'd like to overhaul the Hardware Scan utility and add other helpful tools. As always we are open to ideas so by investing I mean we are open to adding features which will improve the D-A-L experience for everyone.

I personally think this is a great site and it really feels as if we are amongst friends, it would perhaps nice ( I hate the word nice) to have a meeting in the UK for UK members or any who wanted to come, as we all have a great interest in IT and are at different levels of understanding.
