Noticed sumthin
Why when you post a thread you only get 1 or 2 moderators to respond and I noticed after I posted a thread about IExplorer error message that all of a sudden people were having windows xp sp2 problems which was included in my posting.
-
Not sure if I understand the question correctly but:
Anyone with a problem is supposed to start a New Thread for their problem.
No matter how similar the problem the best hope for help is posting a New Thread.
Anyone can answer a problem (with the exception of HijackThis logs). Often it will be a Moderator but not necessarily. Anyone who wants to post in a thread can do so.
Anyway was that the question you were asking?

Just wondered when my thread had over 120 views you were the only one answering. Don't get me wrong, I appreciatted your help and have sent money through paypal to this site in appreciation . Its just something I noticed on this site. I am a Harley Davidson Mechanic with my own small business and belong to a Harley Tech Advisor site and we get alot more hits and inputs and no donations are needed and people from europe to china respond, and submit threads. No question is a dumb question and no answers are to idiotic. If somebody is wrong, somebody will step in on that site and make people aware of a wrong answer (usually politely) and then supply the right answer. Bikers are a little looser and less tense when sharing knowledge I guess. Like I said,,,,, Noticed sumthin

I think most computer users have very little interest in their computers as compared to bikers and their bikes.
Usually the only computer interest is when there is a problem otherwise they could care less.
General observation of course.
You will also note that there are usually several hundred "guests" reading this forum at any given time who never join nor post. Yet their hits on a thread are noted.
Also both Yahoo and Google have several "spiders" running at all times. Again any post they hit on will get a hit in the stats.
This forum has been fairly quite recently but we are here!

Just got through watching " I am Legend" starring Will Smith since my last post. Decent movie. Don't know what "spiders" are. Been getting into this computer thing like I do bikes since joining this forum. Since joining I fixed a old Dell tower and sold it. Bought an IBM A-30 and fixed it up. Using this Ibm M-41 that I upgraded to over 1 gig of ram and 40 gig drive. And blew up my panasonic laptop that I am going to try to rebuild. Also bought a gutted Amrel Rocky ll Plus RT686 ruggidized Laptop, missing H/D, Caddy, CD Rom and Battery that I am going to try my hand at trying to cherry out. AS you can see I'm approaching computer technology like my bikes. I am finding out about propiartary computers and hardware and software and am trying to self teach myself as much as possible and will probably make a lot of mistakes along the way which will cost bucks but what the heck, its how you learn. I'm going to be intrested to try out some Linux OS's on the A-30 tower and if it don't work out at least I/ve already taught myself how to wipe harddrives and start over. Jephree, since I've been to this site only you and Dan Penny are the only guys I've heard from besides the Welcome email from D-A-L. Appreciate the company, You guys are welcome down in Pecos texas any time. Got spare Harleys to cruise around on and some good taverns in the mountains of Alpine Texas , owner books blues and rock country bands from all over the world. Any way, I will be a part of this forum for awhile and won't be just posting problems cause life is about having fun, and I've been pretty good at that for over 5 decades. Like one of your guys sayings go "Its a good day when you learn sumthin" and thats what I'm into. Hope other people reading this will loosen up and not be shy when it comes to posting, replies, donating, whatever. Happy Trails from Pecos, TX

Spiders are like tumbleweeds. Search engines (Google and Yahoo just to mention the biggies) have "bots" that continuously search the web to stock their search engine. They "prowl" all web sites and pick up titles and topics which are then added to the search engine when ever one goes to Google (for example).
Hence a "Google" for "Search Engine":
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...search+engines
Here is the current dal:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...%3Aen-US&q=dal
This is constantly variable.
Anyway most people probably found D-A-L via a search engine and the spiders make that possible.
Nice to have another "hands-on" member. I enjoy building computers. My bike requires my leg power.
In the Florida Keys myself and into my fifth.
Welcome to D-A-L!

Its a good day HA HA, Noticed Daltile corp was listed just above your site. Used to work for that sweat shop a few years ago as an Electrical tech. Thanks for the welcome.. Whats your 5th?
-
I've set a bit of Daltile in my time!
Not my site. I just hang out here. Asked some question nearly 4 years ago and never left.
Was referring to the 5 decades. Won't point out others but there are a few of us Quinquagenarians here.
