Software Programer??
I run a small childrens entertainment company and I'm not very VERSED at using computers. I need a program or software that will help me eliminate a lot of extra work and I don't even know where to start looking or who to hire to do this.
When I take business over the phone, I type the clients information on a "Booking Form". When I asign that client to an independent contractor, I type it out again in an e-mail, and send it to the independent contractor.
If the client wants an invoice faxed OR e-mailed, I type it out again, and send it to them.
NOW...
When it comes time to do payroll, I have to go back and figure out which of the 25 independent contractors did WHAT. This is a process that takes MANY hours.
I feel that there MUST be a program out there, or there must be a way to put something together that will shoot out/organize this information in such a way that will cut my work in half.
Can someone tell me what type of a person I need to go to for help? OR is there already a program that exists that I can use? Is Program even the right word?
I live in Lancaster, CA.
I'd appreciate ANY suggestions.

What sort of information would you record for the contractor? So you take the call from the client and then what sort of information needs to be stored and sent against that particular contractor?

I am not sure if these little programs will help in your situation but worth a look. I have used these applications for other means and can recommend the software from my experience:
1) Type It In
2) Paste It In

Sounds like you need something like MYOB http://www.myob-us.com/products/2006...ssentials_pro/
You would still have to do the initial customer entry but everything is there on one tabbed card, customer details, selling, paying, contact, job history, payroll etc. Everything is integrated so it can be emailed out or sent to spreadsheets etc. I use it here for a 1 person business using sub contractors and its very easy. May be worth looking at as they do offer a free trial.
