Is your computer connected directly to the Internet? Or do all of your computers share the same ISP? Basically, look for the cable that is connected to your computer that accesses the Internet. (Usually yellow or blue.) If you are using WiFi (wireless) then you are using a router.

what was the IP addy with ipconfig did it have a default gateway?
something like
IP address 192.168.11.4
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
deafault gateway 192.168.11.1
-
yes it does have a default gateway
-
when you do ipconfig what are the results of
IP address ???.???.??.?
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
deafault gateway ???.???.??.?
-
ipaddress: 19X.1X8.X1.4X
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
deafault gateway 192.168.1.1
why the subnet mask of your and mine are the same?
-
the subnet address is all to do with binary.
(in binary 255.255.255.0 =11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000)
you're using a router that's why your IP address is 19X.1X8.X1.4X
try typing 192.168.11.1 into your browser it'll have your IP address the same as you get when google myip
