As the title says I need the most bang for my buck. I need to find a PC that is under or right on one grand. Ive been looking for some but I wanted to know if anyone knew of some good deals.
Yes I was thinking about doing that but I needed help finding the parts that will work together. I would like to seeing I have never done it before. But I sure will need help.
Do you already have a monitor? Anything you want or can move from an old computer?
As a starting point I use Newegg's web site. I do not suggest buying or not buying from Newegg but they have a good web site for putting together systems.
The only things I would think about reusing is the RAM and the Hard Drive. I have no use for a floppy drive. Maybe my graphics card but I doubt its that good.
Graphics card is: Diamond S9250 PCI 256 DDR
I would like a new hard drive tho 200 - 320GB would be nice
I would like a new monitor but its not my top priority.
Either tonight or tomorrow I will put together a list of possibilities.
Floppy drives in my opinion are essential and at less than $10 it is ridiculous not to have one. Many SATA drives require floppies to install Windows and most BIOS' upgrades still require floppy drives.
Anyway as soon as I get some time I will pretend I have a $1,000 to spend at Newegg.
You can do the same. Just go thru the 9 items and see what you can find that appear to do what you want.
I would first off guess something like this as to basic pricing:
1: Case = @ $75
2: Power Supply Unit = @ $75
3: Motherboard + @ $150
4: CPU = @ $250
5: RAM = @ $125
6: Graphics Card = @ $150
7: Hard Drive = @ $100
8: Floppy Drive = @ $10
9: DVD/CD RW Drive = @ $50
= @ $975 + shipping etc.
The quality of this hardware will certainly surpass any manufactured system.
OK. Here is a quick fly through at Newegg.
This is a pretty solid system and far beyond what any manufacturer would offer for the same price.
This is just a first/quick idea just to give you some idea:
