    Hi Mike

    Which version do you have?

I know that 3 days ago MS servers crashed and most of Hotmail/MSN/Live accounts including MSN failed to be accessed. Some servers may not be fixed but the one my info was on were fixed

I have Windows Live Messenger 8 (its latest) and it works fully well. However the MSN 7.5 doesn't but I don't use it anymore.

You might try signing off, repairing net connection and then signing on again, to see if it fixes your connection.

My 7.5 is working okay but lots of other people on another forum are having problems with it.

BTW when I read an email from hotmail it says "This website wants to run the following add-on "MSN messenger service" from microsoft corporation. If you trust the website and the add on click here."
I haven't allowed it to run yet.. just wondered what does it do? I only got it after I installed IE 7.

    Hi Jaynee

    Was this email from MS?

In any case, DONT run it or allow it to. No legitimate company sends or issues executable files that are to be run through emails. If there is such a case, its most likely a 3rd party, virus, or hijacker that has no possible benefit to you.

You could try uninstalling the MSN you have and downloading a newer or the same version again. IE7 has been trouble for endless numbers, believe me

It's on all emails. My popup blocker is stopping it at the moment. It's probably just some microsoft thing.

I have had 4 emails today from nationwide bank.

I haven't even got a nationwide account. You can see how some people could be fooled into clicking them though.

I get fraud emails daily- every other day its a new one so it makes you read and ponder if it be true

Yeah, yesterday, many individuals were having MSN problems too.
I've not idea if the situation changed overnight though but mine works fine apart from when transferring files, it does so at 10Kb/min

That is seriously a real pain.

Thaught it was doing it again before, i was talking to a few people and i decided to plug my speakers in... to do this i had to unplug something so i unplugged a large plug (thaught it was the cordless headphones) and when i went to talk to someone, the message area was gray... tried signing in and i got that error message you get when you are not connected to the net.... took me bout 5 mins to realise i had unplugged the router!!!!!!
