is there any adaptor that i can get to convert the laptop screen connector to a VGA plug to plug it into my desktop?

i have another modding idea something similar has been done before

did a bit more reading/searching and found out that it is verry hard/impossible but if someone thinks differently and knows how it can be done, please tell me
