    Mr. Sayed

    hi, everbody,
i have a problem, possibley with my hard disk, because when i turn on my laptop, it gives me a message; saying SMART failure and some string address (physical address) and below showing press F1 to continue. when i press F1, it loads up and work as normal but after somtimes, may 2 or 3 hours the computer crashes and restarts OR when i click somthing it gets stuck, eventually i would not have any other choice to swich off the pc by the button.

please give me your advice if i need another hard disk to replace it.
    thank you very much everybody

S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) is implemented into all of the modern hard disks. A special program inside the disk constantly keeps tracking the condition of a range of the vital parameters: driver, disk heads, surface state, electronics, etc.

You can probably find a diagnostic depending on the manufacturer. What is the exact make and model of the laptop?

You might also run a Check Disk:

    start > run > cmd
in the new window type chkdsk /f
when prompted to run on boot choose Y & reboot
this will check for & fix any disk errors.

You might also want to edit out your e-mail address as Spider Bots may see it and SPAM you
