Hi.

I am very dodgy on computers but try!!!!

I have a Tiny Laptop comp. When i go from mains supply to battery by disconnecting the power supply the battery works fine. However when i try to start the laptop by using the normal on off button with no mains supply the machine does not start. Anyone got any ideas. The battery is ok.

This won't be an intentional "by design" kind of problem. Sounds to me like a faulty power circuit inside the laptop, which would require a laptop specialist to replace some major parts inside.

I could (possibly!) be wrong but, as no-one else has replied in the last week, I think that tells you that there's not an easy solution where we could tell you to do something differently.

If this is a big problem for you, you would probably find it cheaper to replace the laptop with a better, second-hand replacement rather than having the laptop repaired.
