How do I stop this HP tool from verifying the disk.It always fails at that point.I think if I can stop verification from being done the process will complete.
Maybe I am wrong,but i must try.

What process are you trying to complete?
The more details the better.
The HP Recovery tools are accesssable via:
To create or start the Recovery Tools CD:
1 Click Start.
2 Choose All Programs.
3 Choose PC Help & Tools.
4 Click HP PC Recovery Tools CD. The tools window appears.
5 Follow the onscreen instructions.
Store the Recovery Tools CD in a safe place.
The exact process you describe has been tried several times. When the first disc is done the writing tool verifies the disc.At this point the tool fails.I've tried DVD-r,DVD+r..
HP requires you use DVD+R.how do i stop the tool from verifying the completed disc so i can go on to the second one.

From what I read from HP if the disk is not verified then it was not created successfully.
Perhaps try a different brand of CD. Here is HP's page:

QUESTION: Why are rewritable discs unable to be used when making Recovery CDs or DVDs?
ANSWER: Only one set of discs can be created. DVD+R or CD-R media must be used to prevent the possibility of successfully creating another disc over a previously copied disc, thus ruining the set of discs.
QUESTION: What should be done if the program fails during the process?
ANSWER: A failure might be due to bad or poor quality media. Try writing to another disc from a different manufacturer.
Folks,
I too have bumped into this
HP Recovery CD/DVD Creator
issue. To me, it is obviously a bug.
I have little faith that I can reach the right person at HP to fix it.
The banner at the bottom of the screen says this:
v. 6.0D2.61
(c) 2004-2004 SoftThinks
If I ever lose my hard drive,
I'll replace it and install Linux.
Also, if possible, I'll avoid HP and Microsoft products in the future.
They could have easily put a DVD in the box with the computer.
Apple does this but then Apple cares about its customers.
rant off.

I told her I'd rather just use a stack of 16 CD-R disks.
The CD-R disks seem to be working. I'm writing to #4 as I compose this note...

Why does it say there is an error and that the recovery partition could not be found when I try to create a recovery disk
Is this a new computer? Is it the original hard drive?
Was it ever formatted?
What is the exact model and number of HP computer?
