    Dell Check (PLEASE READ)

    I know-what was I thinking, anyways, it what she wanted.....(glutton for punishment)LoL
Bought the wife a new computer for Christmas from dell, didn't work and they replaced it, and as advertised, and according to the packing slip, it was suppose to come with new intel accelerated 900 agp (910/915 chipset), and upon bench marking (that's right-don't trust 'em), anyways, it only sports the 865 extreme 2 chipset, not something that most people would look for I suppose, so I would suggest that anyone purchasing under this assumption should run the Belarc Advisor, and quickly scoot to the dell site to get a complete packing slip by filling out the form and submitting it to make a copy (within 30 days), since they don't include a full one with your order, and only make it available online for 30 days after puchase.....
Am not thoroughly convinced it's isolated, and was reading else where about people talking class action, and this could be it.....Have to research more
Am trying to get this out every where, so people can check, and if any one is curious, and according to a recomendation from Jephoree, I would gladly post the copies of all of it, clearly showing the discrepencies..
Figured I would post in Xp, since I am not sure if it would be all to relevant in Dans' 98, but I hope he reads this.....Hope every body reads this.....
Sorry I didn't make it sooner to wish all a Merry Christmas (had to work), but I ndeed a Happy New Year To All
    Sincrest Blessings

    Thanks for the info darrell.

I moved this to this section thinking it might get a wider read. Please post all the details you desire. Your research and input is appreciated. I know Dell gets alot of people with their marketing skills but I've seen so many problems with them

Anyway thanks for the tips and I hope you get this one straightened out.

Best of the New Year to you and yours'

There is an awful lot of info in here, including the letter that I sent, with there auto reply, to which, as of today, I still have not recieved a physical reply yet, and next, it all goes again, with a copy to the arbitrators as well, and am also in contacts with some lawyers, if I need to go there, and will also include some links to the already various lawsuits for baiting and switching

this is one, and I am looking for the others, the one above is for California, well, because I am looking, I can't seem to find it, but they have one in New York and Canada also, and here is a good link to check out for some additional help

Hope these all work, if not type away LoL
I couldn't quite figure how to high light the specific areas, but the first part is correspondence, and then the newest computer, and the graphics info is near the top right, and am quite sure, reading a packing slip is easy enough, and then below is the comparison of the older compuuter, with the invoice---Keys words are Intel Agp graphics, intel extreme 2 pci, and the notice that they are both 865 chipsets, and upon a little research, you will find that the Agp is suppose to be 910/915 accelerated 900 Agp
By checking what they are advertising, the packing slip, and the intel web site....
So buyer beware, and it takes at least two seperate people to start a class action suit in their area, and it does not seem that finding a lawyer will be too tough......
    Sincerest Blessings To All
May the New Year Be A Blessing To All

Well, I post an update, after contacting the Attorney General, and they in-turn contacting dell, they immediately contacted me to resolve the issue, and according to them, their web site is in error-so buyer beware-he said that they are still shipping with the 865 chipset, as the intel 900 isn't even available widely yet, explains why I couldn't price it anywhere; other than that the wife is very pleased with the computer (the graphics were for me anyways-LoL ) and opted to keep it, and take a partial credit back to the account; I post this to let people know that there is away to get dell to answer you, even if it's to avoid a possible investigation....
This is rather pleasing, as I am sure we all know how long a lawsuit can be....
    Blessings To All
