I know this is only an XP message board but there isnt currently a vista one avaliable.
Ive got a friend in Canada who says he can get the full version on Windows Vista on August 3rd. How can this be when this is the release data for the beta version. so the actual fully runing operating system wouldnt of even been produced until after the beta versions had been tested would it?
do businesses get the full version earlier maybe?
The Beta 1 is scheduled for August 3rd release to selected professionals.
There is no fuller version.

Windows Vista Beta 1 is an early build for IT administrators and developers in the Windows community. It will be available in English to select Beta 1 testers through the technical beta program, as well as to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. There will be other opportunities to test drive Windows Vista at a later date so please be sure to check back again later.

Another half-million or so members of the Microsoft Developer Network and Microsoft TechNet (a support group for IT professionals who use Microsoft products) will soon have access to Beta 1, but without the support available to the official testers.
Beta 1 will not be available to the general public, at least in part because it lacks many of the user-oriented features Windows Vista will have when it ships in the second half of 2006, Microsoft officials say. a??The whole canvas is not complete," says Greg Sullivan, group product manager in the Windows client division. "We've painted less than half the picture here."
