Hey guys,
i am having a big problem with my computer while trying to play games. the games cause my comp to crash it just freeze's and i get a "drrrrr" sound over the headset form this i cant close the game by using task manager etc. only way to get back to the desktop is to restart the comp. the games which so far have crashed my computer are BF2, CoD4 to name a few. but i have noticed that stream based games dont cause this crash. this makes me think its not a hardware problem which i orginally thought it was. so far i have tried changing the graphics cards, updating drivers, i have been using speed fan to record temp of my card never more than 74C which is quite hot i think but still doesnt explain why steam based games dont crash.

i am all out of ideas both my dad and I are comp techies buh we've tried everything we can think of help plz...thanks in advance.

system specs:
have used both Geforce 8800 GS + Geforce 8800 GTS
Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU @ 2.40GHz
2GB Geil black dragon gaming RAM
500GB hard drive
Windows 7 64-bit OS (also have a dual boot with windows XP)

I have the same problem, and it doesn't matter what game I try.

Many times when i am playing games, it happens most of times my computer freezes at that time, dnt knw what to play on pc.
