I just wiped my hard drive due to a virus infection. I got everything up to speed as it was before. When i play games that have worked great in the past now crash,and reboot my pc all the time. I was plaing elder scolls oblivion for a couple hours then it crashed. I tired experimenting with lower graphical games like armored princess but that wont even make it past the 1st cut scene. I dont see how on game that demands more from my system can run for a long period of time , and one that demands much less wont even work off that bat. Both my fans inside my pc are running,and every now and again it dose feel a lil warm when i stick my hand in my case. My hard drive dose appear to be pretty warm but idk if thats normal or not. I have an emachines AMD Atholn 2400+ ,cant remeber wat my graphics card is but it has more than enough power to run my applications. I can tell you that it is normal for a PC Hard Drive to run really warm. The smaller drive the warner they can get$, you can get screw on coolers with aluminum base and dual fan from Antec through Tigerdirect.com for about $10.00..,

Also the Service Pack 3 seems to be giving you a bit of error and memory dumps when it encouters a conflict (normal). I went through this a while back with my own PC and SP3, some pc's do not respond to SP3 that well. I would try several things here if you are unable to un-install SP3, you have thirty days to revert back to just SP2. Remember it could still also be the virus you had Ynitially, formatting the drive doesn't always work, use a virus remover such as Avast/Avira/(NOD32-is not free though it is one of the best). You can get these from several free download sites. I would also try re-installing the video card drivers and check the settings that control quality and speed.Next you would benefit by running these two utility's, HiJachk This and Ccleaner, if you do not have them already. Even if your computer is running okay. Ccleaner should be run every other day atleast.

Also beleive it or not Spy-bot Search and Destroy is still a very good program. Mostly because it has an active scanner running called Tea Timer that protects unautherized and confirms autherized registry entries, which Ccleaner will remove and defrag most of them, better to prevent on entry if possible though.
