I am thinking about purchasing a new LCD monitor and want to get one to where I can hook up my Xbox 360 to play on it. I already have the VGA cable to hook up to the monitor. What I was wondering is if you can hook your monitor up through a DVI cable and your Xbox up to the VGA cable slot and have a way to switch between the two without disconnecting cables from each. I'm not sure if this is a function through the monitor or if another type of cable is needed. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

As long as you have found a way to get your XBOX composite wire to VGA it should work exactly as you said. My monitor HP w2007 has a function to switch between the two inputs I'm sure most other modern monitors do too. If it has VGA and DVI in back it should be able to change.
