Thumbs down Tristin Pinball No Sound

LOL ... I know, this is a game out of the dinosaur ages, but I just found a freeware copy. It came zipped, I unzipped it, stuck it in program files, and everything works except no sound. Any suggestions? As always, thank you for any help or advice. -Marc- Peoria, Az. BTW ... I am running Dell Dimension 4550 with windows XP. Thanx again. :dunce:

Any other sound problems or just this game?

"Everything works except no sound" refers to just the game. My computer is running smoothly. Thank you for your interest in this problem with Tristin, I hope you may post back with a solution. Here is a snippet from the read me file, only I am afraid to do these steps, because I did not install using DOS. I just unzipped the file I downloaded, and click on the Tristan icon, and the game starts. I will paste this part of the read me file here, perhaps it may give a clue to the solution.

    Thanx jephree.

    4.4 Sound Blaster

N.B. Do not modify your system.ini file unless you are comfortable
with what you are doing! Windows is VERY fussy about it.

Using SoundBlaster under Windows requires a change to the SYSTEM.INI
    file, see below.
In the section labelled [386Enh] add the line:
    DMABUFFERSIZE=059

If you are using either Windows with multimedia extensions or Windows
3.1 then Windows will want the SoundBlaster all to itself. You have
the option of not using SoundBlaster for DOS programs or not using it
for Windows. To disable Windows use of the SoundBlaster change
SYSTEM.INI as outlined below. We are just going to change some of
the sound drivers to remarks so that Windows won't load them. To
remark a line in a .ini file put a semi-colon in front of it.
You can reinstall SoundBlaster for Windows by removing the semi-
    colons.

    4.5 Adlib

Adlib works fine under Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.1 in standard mode.
Adlib support does not work with Windows 3.1 in enhanced mode, in
    fact it crashes the system.
