I am having some issues with warcraft. Mostly my computer runs fine but when i get into a busy city or a real busy battleground my computer slows down so much so that i cant move. I am not sure if it is ram than i need more of or a video card. Probably both but i am hoping i can get away with one more than the other.

Can somebody tell me if its the low ram or my video card that is causing the slow down.

Seems to me as if it is both. You're running XP on 512mb ram, which while possible it really isn't much. Also you're running on integrated graphics which would severely dampen your performance.

Yes. Am getting 2 gigs of ram for my birthday. I am hoping that this will make all the lag go away. Can i still use the 512 i have now with the 2 new 1 gig sticks?

First of all, have you made sure that your new 2GB of ram is supported by your motherboard?

Good question. You can still use your 512mb on a few conditions.

Firstly if you still have additional ram slots.
Secondly if both your 512 and 2GB sticks are of the same clock speed/frequency. For example both of it being DDR2 800Mhz etc.

I have actually tried before running 256mb DDR1 266mhz+ 256mb DDR1 333 and the computer worked fine, but I would not recommend it.

Yes i have 4 slots that can handle 1 gig ea (according to crucial.com) I have 400mghz now and i am assuming i have to stick with that when i get the 2 gigs. Is that right?

Well i bought 4 gigs of ram from Ebay. I made sure it was PC3200 400MHz but guess what. It doesnt work. Evidently there is also a high density/Standard density thang too and of course i got the wrong one. The seller says i can get the right density but its twice as much or basicly get half as much and trade. Im gonne go for the half. I will still have 2 gigs plus my origional 512 so hopefully that will be enough.
