Monitor turns off when playing the sims 2.. PLEASE HELP :(
While saving up money for a new computer (so I can play The sims 3), I decided to re-instal all my sims 2 games. While trying to get the sims 3 game to work on my computer(before I relized I had to get a new one), I changed the graphic card, put more memory in, and got a new monitor. BIG MISTAKE!
.... When I first turn on the sims 2 game it runs great! until I try to save it, or about a hour into it! Then I get a "out of frequency, HF 23.9 KHz, VF 38.0 HZ, Operating Frequency, 30-90 KHz, 50-160Hz, Power manegment (then counts down from 20)", and then it turns off, and when I turn it back on it says the same thing!!!!. I think its my monitor but Im not sure, I have a LG 900B?. If anyone can help me, I would be for ever in there debt! <3
Thank you very much for your time.

Hi ,
Games run at a different frequency and resolution to your desktop settings . Many of the newer games run at 1024 x 768 , older games tended to use 800 x 600 . I very much doubt it is your monitor at fault .
Firstly try resetting your screen refresh rate to 60 mhz and your screen resolution to 800 x 600 ( lowest screen refresh rate and screen resolution ) then load up Sims 2 and see if you get the same problem .
I had the same problem but not through gaming - I made a dual boot system when trialing Vista running XP at a screen refresh rate of 75 mhz - trying to boot into vista gave the frequency error message . Lowering the screen refresh rate to 60 mhz solved the problem .
Also try installing your correct monitor drivers ( if you've not done so already ) . Here's the link to the driver download for your monitor :
