so lastly i faced some problem in my windows causing to act like if i just reinstalled it although i didnot all my shortcuts were away plus history and everything that didnot rlly matter coz i just made new shortcuts to everything but what rlly piss me off is that counter strike source shortcut was deleted too and now i cannot start the game and it is not found in the all programs too this is rlly stupid coz i dont want to reinstall the game coz i dont want to lose my mods and gun skins so if anyone out there whyoo know how to start it without shortcut please help and oh 1 more thing if u have counter strike source installed on ur computer please just see the path from the shortcut and post it back here thanks alot

My Computer > C: > Program files > CSS > CSS.exe

You should also be able to re create a shortcut from here.

this may sound stupid but there is only hl2.exe and when i launch it do nothing

no i dont even have an idea whats steam

Steam is Valves on line distributer and server.

Anyway so you installed from CD?

HL2.exe is the source engine for half life 2 as well as CSS.

What other files and or folders are under C:\Program Files\CSS ?

mine is :C/program files/ valve/counter strike source if that made any difference and by the way i am wondering , when u said css.exe did u guess it? coz all of the games i have ever played got .exe in it except counter strike source in fact not only source the whole series i have condition zero as well and i am facing the exact same problem
rather than that some of the files in there are :
(folders) bin / cstrike / hl2 / platform / resislts
(files) game ( just a picture) / hl2 / alot of steam then some numbers after it / uninst

If you open steam and login, then go to your games list, right click Counterstrike Source and create desktop shortcut

this was what i found on other counter strike only forums ... but sadly no one replied to me back there how do i open steam? where do i even get steam? u said its Valves on line distributer and server
so how do i get that?
