    lagging, low fps

Well I hear that most fps in games like counter-strike source are supposed to be about 60+ to be stable. I constantly get 15-25 fps. When I launch counter-strike source it says something about my nvidia driver may be outdated. Well when i try to install the newest nvidia drivers, I always get an error message saying there is no driver compatible with my computer. Im not sure if I should just spend money on a new computer like vista because im using XP... PLEASE HELP!
