I've played maple like a billion times on this computer and nao its not working...crap.
my computer has been acting kinda weird the last couple days, it started with my mouse, which wasnt working. Then, my computer wanted me to boot from the Windows XP CD to repair some crap that i didnt even touch. But after that, everything was working fine...that is until i clicked on the MS icon!!! GameGuard launched and everything, but then i got the Gr2D bull****. I did system restore, but nao im getting Error code : -2147287038 (Unknown error 0x80030002) now wtf is this crap?? any help?

I'd suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling your graphics drivers.

oh wait....idk what i just did but it worked and the game launched! however, i keep getting d/ced like 5 mins into the game, then my computer shuts down

You could try a System Restore to a point prior to your new problems.

ok, so i did another system restore and it didnt help. In fact, it just brought me back to the unknown error. So i reversed the restoration and i gained access to the game once again. Although i became disconnected again, it seemed like i was connected longer than i was before the restoration. what now?

When the game disconnects the computer also turns off? Is that correct?

If so you mean the computer loses all power? Or restarts? Or freezes?

Check your Event Viewer via Administrative Tools.

Open the System as well as Application tabs and look for red X errors that coincide with your problem. Details here:

you are correct about the computer shutting down when the game disconnects, the computer loses all power until i press the power button and it boots up again.
by searching for the red X's that coincide with my problem, you mean that i should look for errors that have something to do with maplestory, correct?

how would i be able to tell if it coincides with my problem?

The errors have a Time Stamp

If the computer shut down at 9:20 look for errors that occurred at 9:20


All that being said your symptoms indicate a hardware problem.

Do you know the make and model of your graphics card?

If not try the Device Manager > Display Adapter

right click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager


Also do you have any other problems when you are not trying MapleStory?

Can you play other games?

Can you watch video?
