    Call of Duty 4 Problem

I uninstalled Call of Duty 4 a couple of months ago and recently reinstalled it on a different Hard Drive. I used to be able to run the game on the highest settings and it run smoothly. Now I'm forced to run it on 1024 x 768 and it still feels choppy and stutters quite often. Does anyone possibly know why this change has occurred? I would like to be able to play the game in the manner that I once enjoyed.

    I'm running

    Duo 2.2 GHz Intel Processors
    512 MB NVIDIA 8600
    2 GB Ram

Maybe reinstall your video card drivers.

    Update DirectX.

And maybe try exiting out of programs/applications you're not using to free up some RAM.

    COD4 latest patch too?

..All the fixes i can think of ATM.

I've already ran the updater and that hasn't helped the problem. Is there a good program I can use to end processes that shouldn't be running to run more efficiently? Also the game is up to date patch wise.

Sorry i dont know of any programs that will do it. Try googling the .exe and see what they are, then end the process if it is unimportant.

Just try and get around 1GB free. That should definitely be more then enough for COD4 at that reso/settings.
