Re: AGP Texture Acceleration Not Available

Just checked the motherboard specs again, and it says you have PCI Express, not AGP. Is this the correct motherboard? http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-de...&productid=743

Yes thats it. I know it has PCI express. But my old motherboard too was PCI Express and it did have the AGP feature. So i guess this should have too.

Another thing that i came across was to install DirectX 10. I saw a similar problem with the same motherboard and the user had DirectX 10. He posted the Dignostic Tool and there the AGP status was listed as available.

So should i try that too?

My older system's chip type was lntel (R) 82810 Express Chipset Family. But it had the AGP texture acceleration as enabled.

I read in other forums that 82945G doesnt support AGP texture. But my older system did and i think this one should too. I installed all the necessary drivers. I need that AGP Texture Acceleration to play San Andreas. Please help me out.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Nisar.

I can verify that AGP Texture still applies to PCI_E graphics cards.

    All of mine are enabled.

I am a bit curious about your DXDIAG report. I have 9.0c which is the final version for XP and I get a similar report but not exactly the same categories.

DirectX 10 only runs on Vista.

Are you getting an error message when starting San Andreas? Have you tried playing anyway?

See more information at the end of this page. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810772

One odd fix I saw was to do with Netmeeting. http://mrgnome.wordpress.com/2007/04...n-unavailable/

I have the Intel GMA driver listed in the Add/Remove Programs. So i guess the drivers have been installed successfully. I am a bit confused about categories...what categories?

Yes. When i start the game, it crashes to the desktop i get the following message, 'gta3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

If you want i can upload the technical report of it. Sorry for giving the error message of another game. Actually i uninstalled San Andreas. But it showed the same error message. I remember getting this message once while i installed Spiderman game. But after enalbing the AGP Texture Acceleration, the game ran fine. So i am guessing the same case will apply for this game too.

I also tried the NetMeeting trick but it didnt work out.
