    Can you tell me how to do that?
    What is the risks?
    do you lose anything?
    The error means your graphics card and or the drivers are not adequate to run this game.

    Did it ever run on your computer? If so reinstall your graphics drivers. What is the make and model of your graphics card?

    If not your graphics device is probably not adequate to run this software.

    A lot more details here:

    Begin by reading the following section of This Guide.

    I just quote the preliminaries. Scroll down the page for information of detecting your hardware and locating the proper drivers.

    [3.0.0] MapleStory

    [3.1.0] MapleStory Errors

    [3.1.1] "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"

    This section would be helpful to you if:

    --> you have reinstalled Windows recently on your computer;
    --> you have never played MS on your computer before;
    --> you are trying to run MS in a virtual machine (jump to [3.1.1.6] now);

    This section does not apply to you if:

    --> MS worked on your computer before but you have not reinstalled Windows between now and the previous time it worked;
    --> MS worked on your computer before but due to a patch or a GameGuard update, it no longer works;

    If the last two applies to you, I suggest you do some universal fixes right now: reboot, reinstall the client, redownload and reinstall the client, system restore to an earlier point where it does work, and/or email Wizet (but make sure you mention that MS worked previous to a patch or whatever event that made it not work). It also wouldn't hurt to try these sections, but you will have a lesser chance of getting it to work compared to the people these sections are written for.

    Remove your ATI driver from Add/Remove Programs.

    Then install the latest release for your laptop from the laptop manufacturers web site.

    It's a Gateway?

    What is the exact model ID?

    That model and serial do not match according to Gateway.

    They say:

    Model: Gateway ML3109 Notebook
    Serial Number: N1976K1059506

    The only drivers for that model are Vista drivers:

    http://support.gateway.com/support/d...ting%20Systems

    Try their scan and see what you get as they scan your computer: "Look up my serial number for me"

    Well that is certainly one drawback to removing the original OS.

    Gateway has no drivers for XP on that model. The Vista drivers will not work.

    A very outside chance the ATI driver would work. Might as well try:

    http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ca...xp/mobility-xp

    Otherwise I'd suggest restoring the laptop to factory Vista conditions.
