    Computer Crashes - MapleStory

I have recently downloaded MapleStory onto my Laptop.

The game is working fine, apart from the fact that every 15 minutes or so, the computer crashes and turns off.

The laptop was working fine, and still is when not playing MapleStory.

Also, I have found that the game does not crash when the charger is'nt plugged in, but of course - I cannot leave the charger out or else it will run out of battery.

    Could anyone help me?

    Can you clarify this:

Also, I have found that the game does not crash when the charger is plugged in, but of course - I cannot leave the charger out or else it will run out of battery.

Are you saying it works OK with the AC adapter plugged in but not otherwise?

Sorry, that was a typo, I meant that the game doesn't crash when the charger is not plugged in.

Is it an AC Adapter or a Charger or both?

What is the make and model of the laptop?

Have you ever played long enough that the battery ran low?

It's a battery charger, that you plug into the wall socket.

It is a Windows XP, (I think) and no I haven't let the battery run low enough to turn off, when playing MapleStory.

An AC adapter is not necessarily a battery charger and vice versa.

If the two functions are included within the same hardware there may be certain settings to be applied.

Running your laptop off the AC wire does not mean it is recharging the battery.

Most likely the laptop would need to be off in order to recharge the battery.

An AC adapter should run the laptop without any connection to battery issues.

Could you explain how I find out the make and model of my laptop, and also explain what an AC adapter is.

    Most have markings or labels.

If it is a VAIO this will be on top engraved in the case. Or Dell. Or HP. Or whoever.

On the bottom there should be labels with model numbers and details.

Belarc might ID it under the heading System Model.

Or you could refer to the manual or the purchaser of the laptop.

    --------------------------

An AC adapter is what you plug into the wall in order to run the laptop off the AC current.

Some AC adapters also function as battery rechargers but not necessarily at the same time. i.e. the laptop would need to be OFF in order to charge the batteries. Depends on the make and model of the laptop.

The make of the Laptop is a IBM, im pretty sure ... (it says on the case "IBM Thinkpad".)

I don't think it's an AC adapter because it still charges while the Laptop's on.

IBM Think Pads are now known as Lenovo as IBM sold their PC unit.

I'd suggest running the game on battery and see if you have any problems.

After the game recharge the battery.
