Unexpected Crashes - Orange Box? Def not, so what's it?

Hey people, my computer has this crash problem. This buggy thing didnt occur before i install the Orange Box, by steam. I know it's definately not the cause, but just the fact.

    Here's my Computer Specs ;

-Windows XP home edition (5.1, build 2600)

    -Processor = Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz (2CPUs)

    -1024MB of RAM

    -Nvidia Geforce 7600GT 256MB , 1024x768 (16bit)(60Hz)

Ok, so, im playing TeamFortress 2 like say, 20-50mins and the first thing i notice was, i can't hear the sounds coming out from my CPU, then i looked at the monitor light, changes to orange, BAM! Dead man, off by itself. At first it was still quite edurable, but soon every games i play like Wc3 , TFC , HL , mostly from steam, crashes just when i LOAD them. Those crash didnt bring me to my desktop, but STRAIGHT, black screen aka automatic off, not a restart. The chances of this crashes occuring is lesser when im surfing the net or chatting on MSN, sometimes it even crash when im watching anime.

I've a problem earlier before this crashing problem, whenver my CD/DVD tray is close on startup, it'll wont start, just crash. So whenever i start my PC, i need to open my CD/DVD tray.

Some tips i get from this web , tried but doesnt works for me are ,

-I try unchecking the auto restart thing , so that a blue screen will occur and tell me the problem. I did that but my computer still shuts down, no blue screen, no error msgs.My computer has already been crashing for more than 20times, but no msgs popup saying, " computer was not properly shutdown..." etc, etc. As im typing, this is maybe the 30th crash so far.

-I went to nvdia to get the latest drivers , still not working.

-Get the latest directX , but still crash.

And oh, my CPU isnt even hot.

I hope you guys could give me some inputs and I look forward in hearing you guys, thanks a WHOLE bunch in advance!

    Ciao!

Check your Event Viewer via Administrative Tools.

Open the System as well as Application tabs and look for red X errors that coincide with your problem. Details here:

How to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

Basic information on Event Viewer errors can be found here: EventID.Net

    ---------------

See if you have errors in CDROM.

Also if you are familiar with working inside your computer disconnect that CD drive.

Most systems create some errors regularly for various reasons.

What we would want to see is any errors that coincide with a game crash.

You will note that they all refer to a specific time.

If you don't remember any previous crash times then note the time of the next crash then go back to the Event Viewer and look for any errors that occurred at that time.
