I have had my computer about 6 months bought from a friend.
we bought a football pc game to play, had to download new version of direct x which was fine, but it still didnt work.

i think i know why but dont know what to do. in direct x diagnostics under video it states:

"The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer."

I presumed that my computer would already have some sort of video driver but am i wrong? does that mean im going to have to buy some expensive video driver just to play games? ive never removed anything from the computer so i dont really get it!

any help appreciated - bear in mind im not a great tecchie!

What installed currently is default driver....
So, remove the card and find out the Brand name, Model, etc. and search web for the drivers based on that.
