I apologize if this is the wrong forum, seemed the best fit.

I just got a new microphone for Battlefield 2142, but it doesn't seem to work or anything. Sound is good and the batteries are fine. it's a Gigaware Omni-Directional Noise-Cancelling PC Desktop Microphone. You think it's just a bad mic, or a computer problem?

Hello! It is probably just not configured. Where are you plugging it in? IF you plug your mic in a front slot on your computer it is probably not the default and your computer might not notice it. Try going into your sound configuration and see if your computer recognizes the mic. It should be on the list, but it might not be set as the default mic. If this doesn't work then I would try to open the options in the game and see if your mic shows up on there, you should be able to test it there as well to see if it works. It shouldn't be the mic unless you've pulled on the cords at all. Shouldn't be too tuff of a problem. Let me know how that works!
