Hello This is my first Post And I'm sorry to say but i got problems

So when i first bought this budget laptop I installed the Sims 2 and it worked like a charm. Soon i got bored off it and uninstalled it This was over a year ago and now i fell like playing it again so i install it but it no longer works when i boot it up it will run for a little bit (like ten minutes) then out of nowhere it turns off abruptly. The same thing happens when i play CS:S

Ok sorry bout the novel but the point is i tried to play a game that i know works great on my junky laptop and now it no longer does

Ok i think it is just with the temp giving that its a 64 bit AMD which I've heard run kinda hot

But short of a intercooler what can i do and How can i prove that its the temp???
