Okay, I just got the game and after a million hours I finally got it downloaded, now I have another problem. Sometimes I can get the game to load no problem...and MOST of the time the computer trys to read the disk then a message pops up saying cannot located cd. Please insert the correct cd and restart... well, this will go on forever untill I just get over and move on to something else. and sometimes after forever it will work that time... I have no idea what to do to fix it.
And another problem when I start playing the game. It plays really well for a long time...than the whole computer freezes... Don't know how to fix that. I lowered all the graphics crap and such and have done everything I could find on the internet that said what to do. Now I'm just lost on everything. I ran out of ideas...

check you disk and make sure there are no marks or fine scratches on it, that can cause trouble with reading the disk.

You also said that when you can get it to work it works for a long time then freezes. That could be caused by a few things; excess heat build-up from dust or insufficient cooling, the solution to that is to clean out the dust or install a fan; it could be that your drivers need updating, the solution to that is to download and install current drivers from their respective websites.

i play the the sims all the time, i got upgrades for my computer and it works ok. Maybe you should try to uninstall it and reinstall it. make sure you turn off your virus protection when you play. turn off your unnessary background task, (it tells you how to do that in the sims manual) good luck
