alright! i'm back from my vacation and i got my driver's license!!!

that's the good news. bad news?

i just installed the "OMG" freaking cool First Person Shooter RPG game called STALKER. and while my computer aint the best... no idea why this problem is popping out.

the sky... is nonexistent. when i set to Dynamic Lights, it's yellow in colour. like... YELLOW. and when i change it to Static, which also improves performance alot, it's totally not there. if i fire a bullet, you'll see the ammo casing in the sky, and when you move there's that... shadow thing you know?

i hope i'm making sense.

i'm running on 1GB ddr 400 RAM, Geforce 7300GS and a P4 64bit 3.0Ghz processor. single core.

anyone have any idea why this problem is happening to me?

the last time i had this issue was when i played Battlefront 1 with Intel Integrated Extreme Graphics, and i assumed it is the onboard graphics being an arse. but i do believe that my 7300GS should be able to run STALKER n all rite?

Anyway:

4. The sky is not shown, or it is colored with yellow

Symptoms:
- sky texture is missing
- sky texture is yellow

Solutions:
- install the latest graphic cards drivers (except 6200/7300/Go):

- drivers for 6200/7300 and integrated series Go haven’t been updated for more than half a year by now; thus the solution here is to switch to the window-screen more (turn Full-screen option off).

mine isn't the integrated version. i just remembered i'm using the Beta driver, maybe that's the reason?

US trip on May 9th. lol. that was the trip to Penang Island and see if there's anything my relatives wanna pass to my sister in the States.

and also for me to get my driver's license. hehe.

edited : reverted back to the official driver, 93.71. found out game runs smoother compared to using the beta 93.81 or something. still yellow/nonexistent sky though.

an update, i've set my graphic details to maximum, and the lights to Static Lighting, because dynamic object slows down the computer. resolution 1024x768 which is the max my monitor can support.

when i run it in windowed mode, it runs perfectly. smooth as silk. but the moment i set it to full screen. the sky goes missing again. any ideas why this is happening? even though in Windowed mode, 1024x768 is ALMOST full screen, the taskbar is annoying and even more annoying when my IM msgs pop out.

From all that I can see you need to wait for the next driver update.

The 7300 and Full Screen appears to bring on this issue.

You can turn off the messenger and set the Taskbar to NOT be on top of other windows.

oops. i missed out the taskbar thing. haha usually people leave me messages and i read them when i'm free you know? but now they just pop out and annoy me. especially when i'm shooting off heads of some bandit trying to rob my loot. lol.

sad case... retard sky...

Wait you set it to maximum with a 7300?? What FPS you getting?
