ok.i read the installation instructions,then started installing but it says ''try to setup your display adapter with a VGA driver'' wtf?

What is the history here?

Is this a new computer?

Did you reinstall XP? If so: why?

Was it working before?

That error is reflecting your initial scan that there is no video device detected.

What is listed in the Device Manager under Display adapters?

Device Manager = right click My Computer > click Manage > click Device Manager > click the + next to Display adapter

its a laptop.I dont think its new.It had harddrive problems at the end of march,so we got a new harddrive.this is my first time trying to play maplestory.I cant find anything with the name ''display adapters'' in the device manager.the only thing with the name adapters is network adapters

Things to try:

1) Turn off your anti virus and try again.

2)
a. Right click on your desktop.
b. Go to properties.
c. Go to the settings tab and click on the advanced button
d. Go to the adapter tab and click on Properties
e. Go to the driver tab and click update driver
f. If successfull try the IBM driver again


3) Boot into Safe Mode and try again.
