In that picture the top connector is a VGA plug/port.

This was the old standard.

The bottom is a DVI which is the new interface usually with new graphics cards and new flat screen monitors.

When you say "slot" I assume you are referring to these plugs/ports.

If you have two and they are different then one should be DVI and the other VGA. In other words one of them should match the monitor.

If the second port is round then it is an S-Video port for a TV.

In my experience with Maple Story it requires an independent graphics card.

Oh ya, does it matter if its DVI to VGA or VGA to DVI. Or is it the same actually.

Your monitor plug will be a male and your graphics card a female.

If your monitor plug is VGA and your graphics card is DVI you need a female VGA to male DVI adapter.
