    Monitor turns off while gaming.

    Hello.

Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. And I hope someone can help me as I'm not much of a computer wizz lol.

So when I'm gaming (usually B&W2) my monitor turns off like its going into standby, the LED goes orange and I can't do anything so I have to restart computer. I think it maybe be some sort of graphics card/monitor error or just a cruddy PC as I have some junk on here but BF2 plays a dream with no problems so I dont know.

I'm not sure if these are the details you lot would want.

If you need different details, just let me know.

i'm not familiar with ATI, but do you have the latest drivers? from what i can see your computer should run it pretty fine, though probably not on highest resolutions and such...

is the disc faulty? improbable but has happened to me once.

I have the latest drivers for everything I reckon.

Do you think maybe there is a problem with overheating causing the monitor to turn off or something, as I've heard of that before.

Is there any way I check if that is a problem?

does it happen only when you play games? or at random times?

maybe you can search for a program that monitor heat and fan speed for your computer. usually it checks the processor only though. nVidia has the function that keeps monitor at all times but i'm unsure of ATI. maybe check their website? they may have some programs that offer this.

i'm not that much of a tech guy either. just an avid gamer that occasionally dabbles to save some cash from repairing. the professionals from this forum will probably reply soon. hang on buddy!
