Gah, Weird graphic problems.
Yeah.. Umm, why is my computer doing this..

Er.. Whenever I open something the screen goes black for a second and then everything looks like that. It's not THAT bad anymore, but it's still really irritating. I can barely see what I'm typing right now. I've ran a virus scan everyday since I last got my computer fixed (like a week ago..) I would run a spyware scan, but I really don't want to leave this on while I'm at school..
Also, The textures in some certain games (Age of Empires III, and Silent Hill II, namely,) have been REALLY messing up. When I try and play Silent Hill 2 (which is an old game, my computer shouldn't have a problem running it,) the textures are stretched and I can barely see the screen. Eventually it ends up locking up.
In Age of Empires, some of the graphics are really jumpy. It's still playable, but there are a lot of little black dots jumping around.
My computer isn't the greatest, but I DO meet the minimum reqs to play these games. And even if I didnt have the reqs, it wouldnt explain why my monitor randomly goes black.
I've already tried getting new video and sound drivers, helped a little, but still have the problem.

That is obviously a graphics card problem. What kind of card do you have?
Try updating your video card with the latest drivers.
If that dosnt work try rolling it back or re-installing it in a different slot.

Meh, I've tried new drivers and it helped a little (I can actually read things on screen,) but the screen still goes black and some of my games look bad.
Right now I have a Geforce4 mx 440..
If I need a new one, what is a semi-good card that is AGP 4x supported?

Like I said you should try more to fix it like switching its slots.... maybe trying older drivers....
but if you are looking for a new one with agp 4x there is:

Those arn't bad cards.
but it depends on how much you want to spend
