Hi,

I've recently started having problems with the graphics on certain games. The computer should be more than capable of handling these and I didn't have these problems with it before.

Basically, the graphics appear jumpy. They jump or stick at iregular intervals but frequent enough to notice and be frustrating. It seems to be acompanied with a strange crackling sound also (which isn't speaker distortion as I can here it on lower volume).

It was so annoying I worked through the following to solve it:

defrag
reinstall affected software
adjust performance settings (refresh rates etc)
driver updates
shut down programs not in use
full system recovery

and eventually after talking to the supplier:

a new hard drive was installed.

None of the above worked and I'm just wondering if there s anything else I could try. As I said I cannot explain why thi problem occured - the computer worked fine before.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

That sounds like a sound card problem...try updating your sound card to the newest drives or buy a new one. Also just to be safe update your video card too.
