hey

i have just installed sims2 and sims2 pets and everything runs fine in accordance with the game, its my monitor that screws up when i play, evrything in the game is going fine then my monitor will just turn off by itself and i cant turn it back on, so i press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and when i return to the desktop its fine again..... i dont know if its my monitors drivers or what...but i would appreciete any help.

What do you mean exactly that the monitor turns off?

Does it just go blank or does the LED go from green to amber?


Do you have Power settings set to shut down the monitor after a certain period of time?


In general a monitor has no drivers. It would be your graphics card unless the monitor is actually turning off which the LED's would show.

well the monitor turns off....the light goes to roange and it wont turn back on...i try moving the mouse pushing the button etc....

i looked at the monitor settings and nothing is set to make the monitor turn off after a period of time.

i think it may be something to do with my graphics card.... see i reformateed my computer a while back because of viruses and such....and when i reinstall everything on my computer.... i didnt have any disks to reinstall drivers or whatever....so its all on default...whic i think might be a problem???

Verify your Power settings via: start > Control panel > Display > Screen Saver > Power

You would need to reinstall your graphics drivers yes. What is the make and model of your graphics card?
